Precisely Controlling Wetting Behavior

ELIPSYS® allows the wetting behavior of component surfaces to be precisely tuned. Whether hydrophobic or hydrophilic, the structural design is exactly matched to the intended application.

Combined with complementary technologies such as PVD or CVD coatings, ELIPSYS® enables long-lasting, high-performance surfaces that maintain defined wetting behavior throughout the component’s lifetime.

Application Examples

A central use case is the creation of water-repellent surfaces, which can be implemented with or without additional coatings depending on the requirement.

By generating extremely fine structures (<10 µm) with high aspect ratios, ELIPSYS® enables the realization of superhydrophobic surfaces - for self-cleaning effects or precise control of liquid movement.
